“Cupcakes and Root Beer” By Julie A. Manhan
There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with cupcakes, several cans of root beer and started on his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he saw an elderly woman. She was sitting on a park bench watching the pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed the lady looked hungry so he offered her a cupcake. She gratefully accepted and smiled at him.

Her smile was so wonderful that he wanted to see it again, so he offered a root beer as well. Once again she smiled at him. The boy was delighted!

They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling without saying a word.

As it began to grow dark, the boy realized how tired he was and wanted to go home. He got up to leave but before he had gone no more than a few steps, he turned around and ran back to the old woman, giving her a big hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy arrived home his Mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked, "What has made you so happy today?" He replied, "I had lunch with God." Before his mother could respond he added, "You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile in the whole world!"

Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face. He asked, "Mother, what has made you so happy today?" She replied, "I ate cupcakes in the park with God." And before her son could reply, she added, "You know, he is much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring; all of which have the potential to turn a life around.People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

Take no one for granted and embrace all equally with joy!

The Shanghai Trip

hey 3 hope! Here's some updates bout our shanghai trip...

the pokeball tower!!!

check this out! we wore the uniform of the secondary sch that we went to.. Pan Yu Zhong Xue!!

we had breakfast in the hotel straightaway after we touched down in Shanghai..

the rest of the photos are just my photos so will be irrelavant if i put it up.. but anyway.. overall the Shanghai trip was fun. We tried to clear up the dishes always so each one of us had to try to finish up a dish. Mine was that big pot of rice, Jo got the fishes, Val.. obviously always the greens. Yimei, the soup.. blah blah.

Oh yes! On the last day of the trip, we had dinner, val arhx.. she forced herself to eat up the greens when she was already so full cuz she ate 65 big teddy bear biscuits.. in the end, she had to unbutton her jeans button cuz she was bloated, the pants was tightening up her tummy.. hahaha..

Joanne is now known as the bling bling bimbo.. she bought a bracelet which looked like those buddhist kind of bracelet.. those big beads?? Yarhx, Joanne bought transparent beads and when she wears them, she starts shaking them up and down her wrist.. she calls the bracelet bling bling.. and during the trip, everyone kept saying she was so bimbofied cuz she keep screeching and all.. and she bought a white adidas handbag which is fake but look real.. and she bought it for singapore 6 dollars liddat!! Jo! you tag my board right?? It will cost you that white adidas handbag!!!

There was also this dinner whereby Mrs Cheong bought huge fresh tomatoes for each and everyone of us.. Obviously no one wanted it.. xcept for val. So we ate a little and then when Mrs Cheong went up to the function room, we all threw it into the tomato soup and squish it into smaller pieces... xiao yun's table did that too!

ok.. anyway, i cannot really rmb the other fun facts.. or otherwise, too long to blog.. the rest who went for the trip, pls update k?

Hihihi! Ok i juz finished publicising this blog.. So hope everyone knows abt its existence henceforth..and sry to those who werent informed yea? I juz wanted to edit everyting properly first..but looks like u gurls stumbled across it aldy. =)

Anyway, desaru trip was whack! =) Ok, there were it's not-so-wonderful parts (like all other sports trips) but at least we got to stay in a hotel tis time n enjoy all its yummy food rite? Lolx.. Darn, all those calories.. *does the -obesed buddies- dance* ;D

Well to those who din go for e trip, i would have bot souveniers back for u gurls if there was anyting to buy..but i guessed i overestimated the location in terms of shopping. Gah, hoped u guys enjoyed ur half day. And guess wad, we (mich, mina & clara for tt matter) were actually envying yoo guys on e bus due to e fact tt u guys got to go out n relax while we were stuck in e stoopid bus ride tt took forever on e way to desaru where we cld do almoz anytingslack. Seriously. Plus we had to roast under the sun in track pants. Not hot lar. Ok, we were feeling lazee..
